Visual identity created for two-time Grammy winning, three-time Guild of Music Supervisors Award winning, and Emmy nominated Music Supervisor Steven Gizicki.
Best known for his work on universally acclaimed musical feature La La Land, Steven was also more recently awarded a second Grammy, for his work on Bradley Cooper's Maestro.
The concept at the heart of the identity is based on the simple premise of 'Music for Film', articulated through the use of iconic visual references associated with both music and film, creating a logomark that instantly communicates the essence of the clients work.
The logomark features a musical staff (or stave), comprising of five horizontal lines, with the top two rotated to represent a clapper board. A device synonymous with filmmaking, used to synchronise picture and sound, distilling the nature of Steven's work and the concept of 'Music for Film' into a simple mark.
The clapperboard device is used to introduce content across various animated sequences, featuring Steven’s film credits. Whilst the 5 horizontal lines of the stave are implemented as a key asset as part of the wider design system across print and web.
